Just so we don't have to look at the surfer any more. I was taking some abstract photos for a photography club I belong to. Each month is a different theme. This month is "abstract" and January was "smoke". Since I missed January, why not combine abstract and smoke. I have seen several photos like this on the internet and thought I would give it a try. The results aren't too bad. I think if I were to try it again, I would try a little harder to keep light off my black background. It would make things easier to edit later. I would also try different ways to manipulate the smoke to get different patterns. And maybe use manual focus instead of auto. I might also want to try what Heath did with the light bulbs.
