Ian nach Karlsruhe? Heck Yes!

This weekend we had the pleasure of visiting with a friend, Ian, from Calgary who has recently moved to Berlin. He got in touch with us just before the weekend to share the news (that he was now living in BERLIN!) and luckily we were free this weekend to meet up here in Karlsruhe.

Ian arrived on Saturday afternoon. We took him on the grand walking tour of Karlsruhe, which actually doesn't take very long.

We met up with Nadya for dinner and drinks at Wolfbräu.



Then went in search of Kikör or what we would call "Fußball". Don't look too closely at that pool table ... yeeeeuck.


We're losing pretty badly here. My offensive skills are not what they used to be in my engineering days.


On Sunday we slept in and took it easy. The weather as gorgeous and sunny again. We walked to ZKM, our modern art museum. This is just a sampling of the bizarre, puzzling, weird and thought provoking art we saw.




After the museum Ian braved the naked spa with Toby. We've got another convert.


Today Ian went on his way to spend some time in Weimar on his way back to Berlin. Thanks for the visit Ian. Best of luck as you start your new life in Germany!
