Day 27 - Baltimore, Oysters and a free concert

It started out as a low-key day.  We vacuumed about ten pounds of cheerios out of the backseat of the car and bought a car-seat protector at Toys R Us.  We felt very German, taking care of our car on a Saturday like this.

Woke up.  Found chips. Started eating chips for breakfaast.

Julian loves to play with the tape.

Then everyone had a nice weekend nap.  Refreshed from our break we headed out to Baltimore with a vague plan to have a seafood dinner and walk around the harbour.  It was smooth sailing to get down to the harbour front and took less than 30 minutes.  We went to a restaurant on a tip from Toby's coworker but the wait was over an hour, so we decided to check out the harbour.  Unfortunately at that moment it started to rain (and it was pretty cold) so after a very short look around we phoned ahead to another restaurant that we got from a guidebook (they said no wait) so we jumped back in the car.

By the time we got to the restaurant the situation had changed and there was  a 45 minute wait. We decided to have an appetizer at the bar so we sat down and ordered some crab cake sliders, a beer for Toby and some oysters from the oyster bar.  Mmmmm... delicious.  That was so good that we got more oysters and then some crab chowder, crab soup and crab dip.  Julian did really well siting in our laps at the bar and we had a really nice time.

After we paid the bill and were just about to tell the hostesses we were leaving, they announced our table!

Now we are at home watching Being Elmo, eating leftover crab dip and listening to a concert going on the Merriweather Post Pavilion a nearby outdoor concert hall.  The sound is carrying all the way through the closed windows.

Overall, a great day!
